Information Support Force：a Brand-New Strategic Arm of the PLA
4月19日晚上，國防部舉行專題記者會，國防部新聞局局長、國防部新聞發言人吳謙大校答記者問。
吳謙：2024年4月19日，中國人民解放軍信息支援部隊成立大會在北京八一大樓隆重舉行。我愿就會議有關內容回答記者提問。
Wu Qian: The inaugural conference of the PLA Information Support Force was held in Bayi Building on April 19th, 2024. I will now take questions concerning the conference.
記者：這次大會宣布成立信息支援部隊，這支部隊是一支什么樣的力量？
Question: The conference inaugurates the Information Support Force. What kind of force is it?
吳謙：調整組建信息支援部隊，是黨中央和中央軍委從強軍事業全局出發作出的重大決策，是構建新型軍兵種結構布局、完善中國特色現代軍事力量體系的戰略舉措，對加快國防和軍隊現代化、有效履行新時代人民軍隊使命任務具有重大而深遠的意義。信息支援部隊是全新打造的戰略性兵種，是統籌網絡信息體系建設運用的關鍵支撐，在推動我軍高質量發展和打贏現代戰爭中地位重要、責任重大。
Wu Qian: Establishing the Information Support Force through restructuring is a major decision made by the CPC Central Committee and the Central Military Commission (CMC) for the cause of building a strong military, and a strategic step to establish a new system of services and arms and improve the modern military force structure with Chinese characteristics. This is of profound and far-reaching significance to the modernization of national defense and the armed forces and effective fulfillment of the missions and tasks of the People's military in the new era. The Information Support Force is a brand-new strategic arm of the PLA and a key underpinning of coordinated development and application of the network information system. It plays an important role and bears great responsibility in promoting high-quality development and the ability to fight and win in modern warfare.
